Iraqi parliament re-opens to candidate for the presidency again
On Saturday, the Iraqi parliament adjourned its session, chaired by the Speaker of the Council, Mohammad al-Halbousi. According to a statement by the Media Department of the House of Representatives, “the Council held its session in the presence of 265 deputies,” according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency.
The statement indicated that “the parliament voted to open the door for candidacy for the position of President of the Republic,” noting that “the number of voting deputies reached 203 deputies, and 62 deputies did not vote.”
The session’s agenda included voting to open the door for candidacy for the position of President of the Republic, and the formation of permanent parliamentary committees for the House of Representatives.
