Digital transformation: Information technology plays an effective part in enhancing the quality of living for the public, through adapting the contributions of modern technology to provide better, higher quality services, that include various sectors such as education, business, health, etc.
Digital transformation -in specific- is considered the biggest influence on the commercial business sector, and the key to enter the world of entrepreneurship, in the meantime. According to the most recent report from Statista, it is expected that the spendings on technologies and services that enable digital transformation around the world, would reach 2.3 Trillion USD around the year 2023.
The Arab region, and Iraq specifically, is witnessing a major growth in digital transformation. As the Iraqi government is paying no small attention into achieving a complete digital transformation. Only recently, the fourth installment of the annual technology forum “IT LIVE” was held in Baghdad, the capital. It is considered the biggest information technology forum in Iraq, ever since its launch in 2017. The forum witnessed the attendance of a large number of Iraqi technology pioneers from youths, government establishments, and private sector companies, who shared their distinct ideas and a number of strategic solutions that would stimulate the society to advance technology in Iraq.
The participation of private sector companies confirmed the importance of the technological transformation that Iraq is currently witnessing, and the active role these companies play in leading both the digital and technological transformations. It also affirms that the development and growth of the economy is now based on information technology methods that seek to manage information efficiently, so that industries become the basis for the economic sector.
In the field of the transportation sector, in terms of the digital and technological development, it has brought positive effects on the economy at various levels, as it contributed to a 10% increase in the level of digitization of the government, increasing the growth of per capita GDP by 0.75%.
Statistics provided by Adroit Market Research SBWire reveal that the global market for digital transformation in transportation and logistics was valued 54.92 billion USD in 2018, and this number is expected to rise to 145.28 billion USD by 2025, at a compound annual growth rate of 0.13% during this period.
